The IFIC Foundation has released a new animated video highlighting some of the unsung benefits of packaged foods. It showcases how some types of processing enhance nutrition, such as fortification, and increased lycopene resulting from tomato processing.
The video also lays out the benefits of packaged food for reducing food waste and saving grocery budgets, as perishability is much lower in frozen and packaged options. And it highlights the benefits of saving cooking time, which can be a challenge for many families.
