We invite you to join us for FDLI’s Food Advertising: Claims, Litigation, and Strategies Conference in New York on October 8th. This conference will address the current advertising and litigation issues, including advertising to children, food defamation, and strategies for handling class actions in the consumer product realm. FDLI is honored to have William H. Efron, Director of FTC’s Northeast Region, present the keynote address. At this meeting, you will also hear directly from counsel on the POM Wonderful v. Coca-Cola Supreme Court ruling, including how this ruling will affect food manufacturers and the future interplay between FDA and FTC advertising regulation.
You will also hear from experts in the industry on the recent developments in GE labeling initiatives, including a discussion of Vermont’s labeling legislation and the lawsuit that followed. Speakers will also discuss whether we should have labels on GE products and how the consumer right to know, regulatory science, and the First Amendment factor into this decision. Panel discussions such as this will be interspersed with short sessions that address issues like functional food labeling and FDA’s recent use of guidance to regulate foods as drugs.
This one-day conference will be held on October 8, 2014 from 8:30am – 5:00pm at the law offices of Winston & Strawn, LLP in New York, NY.
