Every day, we at FoodInsight are working hard to bring you great content by qualified experts. But who are these experts toiling away? In our new series, “Better Know a Dietitian,” we introduce you to the smart folks who make sure that you’ve got the very best information in food safety and nutrition.
This week, meet Sarah Romotsky, our Associate Director of Health & Wellness. She helps with all kinds of information, from our great protein series to our fortification and functional foods information. In her free time, Sarah is a certified group ex instructor and has been teaching spinning classes for over eight years, so don’t be surprised if you see her yelling at you from a bike some day!
Better Know a Dietitian: Sarah Romotsky Installment
How I sum up what an RD does in 10 words or less: Motivates & inspires others to live a happy, healthy life.
When I received my RD: 2011
My favorite movie is: When Harry Met Sally
What most surprises people about RDs is: We’re not all the food police! When people meet me, they always expect me to have the perfect diet. They’re surprised that I actually practice what I preach in terms of indulging and not making any food off limits.
For breakfast this morning, I had: Cottage cheese and raspberries.
My best memory of being an RD is: Someone I worked with told me that our work changed not only her appearance, but the way that she related to food. Working together helped her shed years of unhealthful behavior, and being able to make her emotional relationship to food healthier meant so much to me.
If I had to eat one meal the rest of my life: Chocolate cake with raspberries (but that life might not last me too long with that diet!)
My secret talent is: I’m a spin instructor! Though that’s not secret…Naming every single episode of I Love Lucy.
The best thing about working at FoodInsight is: The creativity of our content- I like the creative way we communicate information through graphics and blogs. Each RD puts their individualized voice on science-based materials and gives it personality.
