IFIC Webinar: Understanding Consumer Perceptions of Food Technology & Sustainability
The International Food Information Council shared the findings from its 2012 “Consumer Perceptions of Food Technology” Survey during a webinar for health professionals on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 2:00 – 3:30 pm EDT.
The webinar explored consumer perceptions of food technology and sustainability; identified consumer concerns and gaps in information regarding food technology; and provided tips for health professionals for communicating with consumers about food technology in a way that helps build awareness and understanding.

About the IFIC 2012 “Consumer Perceptions of Food Technology” Survey
The IFIC 2012 “Consumer Perceptions of Food Technology” Survey explores U.S. consumers’ perceptions of various aspects of plant and animal biotechnology, as well as sustainability and new and emerging technologies such as nanotechnology. Formerly the “IFIC Survey of Consumer Attitudinal Trends toward Food Biotechnology,” this year’s survey is the 15th in a series conducted since 1997.
IFIC commissioned Cogent Research of Cambridge, MA, to conduct this quantitative assessment of U.S. adult consumer attitudes toward food technology from March 7 to March 19, 2012. The survey had a sample size of 750 and the data were weighted on marital status, income, gender, race, education, age, and region to be nationally representative.
